To Our Fellow Hams

It has come to the attention of the Enid Amateur Radio Club that someone is sending hateful letters to amateur radio operators complaining about the operation of their station. This individual is using the W5HTK club call sign and our trustee's return address on the envelopes. We can only imagine that this is to make it appear that the letters are coming from someone authorized by the club or in an attempt to attain some validity to their complaints.

The Enid Amateur Radio Club has a long and proud history. Founded in 1936, it has selflessly continued to serve the amateur radio community, the citizens of Enid, and the state of Oklahoma in whatever capacity needed.

The EARC would like to make it clear that these letters are NOT coming from anyone within the organization or from anyone authorized to speak on behalf of the club. This is coming from an individual that is taking great pains to mask their identity so that he or she can rant about what they perceive as inappropriate station operation.

If you have received one of these letters, we would like for you to contact us as we are in the process of working with the United States Postal Inspector to rectify this situation.

Again, the Enid Amateur Radio Club is in no way endorsing or involved with any hate letters that are currently circulating.
